Here at the Sunshine Hippo HQ we welcome each day with a smile and a cup of coffee.  We then look forward to twenty-four hours worth of new possibilities & challenges.

By far the biggest “What’s New” is this blog and lovely website & the trials associated with setting it up when you’re not very techie.

Thankfully, Dave (ThreeSixty Web Design) was a gem, easy to work with and so patient with the constant questions asked of him. But you know what? We’ve learnt loads and that’s what life is about, learning and reinvention.

Our creative process starts on a sketch pad that is overflowing with ideas.  The good, the bad and the downright ugly (never to see the light of day in public!).

The trial & error involved in the creative process is part of the fun.

Learning what does and doesn’t work with each item & discovering surprises along the way all helps to add to the satisfaction when the final product reveals itself.

To coincide with a local Easter charity day here in Orihuela Costa, we decided to create a bunny bookmark. We quickly realised that such cuteness deserved a permanent place in our range.

New bookmark shapes are being added all the time with the latest one being a whale. We think that whales are such magnificent creatures and feel that they belong in our bookmark range.

We hope you love them as much as we do.

A medium that has captured our imagination is free-motion embroidery and it’s one that we’re working hard to perfect.

We love the fluidity of drawing with the sewing machine and how the various fabrics combine to create unique designs.
